Principal's Message

As we begin the 2008-2009 school year, I want to take this opportunity to welcome all of our students and parents to  Sweetwater Elementary School .  All of our teachers, staff, and administrators are looking forward to working with you and your child as we endeavor to provide a quality educational program that will establish the basis for future success. 

I am very pleased to report that we have once again met the criteria established by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) to qualify as an "A+" school for the fourth consecutive year. Additionally, our school also met the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements under the Federal Statute of No Child Left Behind (NCLB). These accomplishments were the result of a truly committed, dedicated and professional staff who possesses the firm belief that every student can learn.  

Once again, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to partner with you and your children in  this wonderful educational voyage of lifelong learning.  It is of utmost importance that we continue to work collaboratively to ensure that all of the students benefit from our educational program.  

As the  Principal of Sweetwater Elementary, I encourage you to become actively involved in your child's education.  It is imperative that teachers, parents, and administrators communicate frequently and openly in order to promote linkages between the school and the community.  Our goal is to promote and provide a safe and nurturing learning environment which will address the academic, emotional, and social needs of our students.  

This year will bring many challenges, however, working together I know that we can succeed and overcome any obstacles that may impede the learning process.  Please feel free to ask your child's teacher, counselor, or any other staff member for any clarification or assistance you may need.
